					Nasty Habits
As Performed by Oingo Boingo, written by Danny Elfman and transcribed by
Cameron Miller
Here’s the moves you’ll need to know:
/ = Slide up to fret
\ = Slide down to fret
Intro:
E---5---3------------------5----3-----------
B---5---3---4-------------5----3-----------
G---5---3-----3-----------5----3---4---2--
D----------------2---0-----------------3----
A---------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------
This is the first opening rift for the song:

E-9-9------------------8-8----------------7-7----------------
B-----8-8-------------------7-7---------------6-6------------
G----------7-7------------------6-6---------------5-5-----7-
D---------------6-6------------------5-5---------------4-4--
A--------------------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------

Then,

E--------------------------------------------------------
B-------------------5----------------------7------------
G-------5-------5----5-----5-----5----------6---------
D----5-------5----------5------5----------------5------
A-4--------4----------4------4---------------------4---
E---------------------------------------------------------

You can get a better effect for the last note of the rift if you slide up the neck of the guitar after you hit it.
The verse part pops up next and requires a slide

E------------2/12-12/13/12/13----
B---14/2---------------------------
G—--------------------------------
D-----------------------------------
A-----------------------------------
E-----------------------------------

Since that’s with a slide you must slide to each fret and hit the string in mid slide.

At the parts where Danny sings, “Tell me your secrets..” it’s best to just improvise with the slide. Once you learn the basic melody of the song it isn’t too hard.

After the second chorus there’s a real interesting solo for the slide:

E---------------------------------------------------------------
B---------------------------------------------------------------
G---2/10---10\8-10/8-10/8---2/10---12\11-12\11-12\11
D---------------------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------
Do that twice then:
E------------------------------------
B------------------------------------
G---2----2/7------2----2/7--------
D-----3--------------3--------------
A-------4--------------4------------
E------------------------------------
And for the last part you’ll do this:
E---------------------------------------------------------------------
B---------------------------------------------------------------------
G---2---2/10-10\9-10\9-10\9---2---2/12-12\11-12\11-12\11-
D---------------------------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------------------------
E----------------------------------------------------------------------
And to wrap up our little solo:
E----------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------------------------15/-
G----2---2/10-10\9-10/9-10/9----2---2/14-14\13-14\13-14\13-----
D---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, complicated isn’t it? But definitely worth learning, as is sounds real cool when you get it down. Since that’s done with the slide you’ll have to listen to the song to find out when during the slide you should hit the note. Also important to remember is when the notes are real close together you must hit them real fast to get the right timing.

Have fun and keep the Boingo Sprit alive!!!
